Professional Fees
FIXED-FEE PRICING - All Stoneman Volk Patent Group fees are firm
quotes provided after a free initial consultation. We do not charge
for normal phone calls, e-mails, correspondence, etc. Our fixed-fees
provide budget predictability for you. The following estimates
represent the fees customarily quoted to our clients for these
situations. USPTO fees are additional.
Patent Fees (Typical Charges)Patent Prior Art Search (USPTO Patent Database, typically 1-2 week turnaround)Includes in-house patent search of USPTO and WIPO databases, copies of prior art patents, prior art analysis, and written opinion on patentability (minimum recommended expenditure).
Boutique-Quality Utility Patent Application Below service charges (any actual Patent Office fees are additional) include in-depth patentability analysis, specification and drawings, complete claim set, all client consultations, filing the case with the USPTO, and all USPTO and client correspondence needed to prepare and file the application (minimum recommended expenditure, actual quote is provided to client based on agreed scope of work).

Office Actions The USPTO typically sends the first Office Action one to five years after the utility patent application is filed. Typical charge includes: office action analysis, client consultation, office action response to USPTO, USPTO examiner interviews, and all USPTO and client correspondence (minimum recommended expenditure). (Charge does not include any Patent Office fees, including any late fees.)
Other Patent Services (not including patent office fees)
Filing PCT (International) Patent Applications Typical charge includes: client consultation, paperwork preparation, filing, and all client and patent office correspondence and all official fees when filing a previously written U.S. patent application with the World Intellectual Property Organization.
Foreign National Stage Patents Includes: client consultation, paperwork preparation, translation, filing, and all correspondence. Used to file a PCT application in designated foreign countries before the PCT application expires. (Accurate quotes take at least thirty days to receive.)
US National Stage Filings (English Language Applications) Typical charge includes: client consultation, paperwork preparation, filing, and all client and USPTO correspondence. Used to file foreign patent applications in the U.S. Translation for non-English applications quoted separately (minimum recommended expenditure).
Trademark Fees (Typical Charges)Includes all client consultations, preparation, filing/mailing, and all client and USPTO correspondence.
Fees for Other Services (Typical Charges)BUSINESS MATTERSIncludes all client consultations, preparation, filing/mailing, and all correspondence.
