TRAVEL STORAGE SYSTEMS

Abstract

A re-usable, portable, storage travel system for storing flowable substance products such as lotions, shampoos, creams, liquid medicines, and the like for transport, particularly when traveling and, specifically designed for assisting traveler conformance to travel security recommendations for carrying such flowable substance products. The system provides methods and means for transferring flowable materials from larger containers to smaller containers, particularly small-volume, flexible, sealable, plastic squeezable-tubes. This system also provides a re-usable, portable, storage travel system for storing a flowable food-grade substance such as, for example, liquor.

Claims



1) A method, relating to assisting air travelers to comply with airport security measures, comprising the steps of: a) assessing airport security recommendations relating to at least one specified territory; b) designing at least one kit product usable to assist air travelers to comply with such airport security recommendations relating to such at least one specified territory; and c) marketing such at least one kit product to potential air travelers; d) wherein such at least one kit product is structured and arranged to provide substantially all objects needed to assist air travelers with such compliance in such at least one specified territory.

2) The method, according to claim 1, further comprising the step(s) of: a) performing at least one reassessing of current airport security recommendations relating to such at least one specified territory; b) performing at least one redesigning of such at least one kit product; and c) marketing such at least one redesigned kit product to potential air travelers; d) wherein such at least one redesigned kit product is structured and arranged to provide substantially all objects needed to assist air travelers with current compliance in such at least one specified territory.

3) The method, according to claim 1, wherein such step of assessing airport security recommendations relating to at least one specified territory comprises assessing airport security recommendations, relating to at least one specified territory, relating to carry-on travel while carrying flowable substances.

4) The method, according to claim 3, wherein such step of designing at least one kit product usable to assist air travelers to comply with such airport security recommendations relating to such at least one specified territory comprises designing at least one kit product, relating to carry-on travel while carrying flowable substances, usable to assist air travelers to comply with such airport security recommendations relating to such at least one specified territory.

5) The method, according to claim 4, wherein such step of marketing such at least one kit product to potential air travelers comprises marketing at least one kit product, relating to carry-on travel while carrying flowable substances, to potential air travelers.

6) The method, according to claim 1, wherein such at least one kit product relates to carry-on travel while carrying flowable substances and comprises: a) at least one substantial copy of at least one set of such airport security recommendations; b) at least one set of objects meeting such airport security recommendations; and c) at least one set of tools to assist in any desired transfer of at least one such flowable substance into at least one of such at least one set of objects.

7) The method, according to claim 1, wherein such airport security recommendations comprise recommendations from any authority having jurisdiction over such airport security.

8) The method, according to claim 1, wherein such at least one specified territory comprises the Unites States of America.

9) A kit system, relating to assisting air travelers to comply with airport security recommendations relating to carry-on travel while carrying flowable substances, comprising: a) at least one substantial copy of at least one set of such airport security recommendations; b) at least one set of objects meeting such airport security recommendations; and c) at least one set of tools to assist in any desired transfer of at least one such flowable substance into at least one of such at least one set of objects.

10) The kit system, according to claim 9, wherein said at least one set of objects and said at least one set of tools together comprise a transport system relating to use and transport of at least one flowable substance from at least one user-selected original container comprising at least one threaded opening to at least one kit-system container comprising, in combination: a) a plurality of containers structured and arranged to contain the at least one flowable substance; b) at least one transferor structured and arranged to transfer the at least one flowable substance from the at least one user-selected original container to at least one of said plurality of containers; c) wherein each of said plurality of containers comprises at least one ingress for ingress of the flowable substance from said container; d) wherein each of said plurality of containers comprises at least one egress for egress of the flowable substance from said container; e) wherein said transferor comprises at least one adapter structured and arranged to adapt the at least one threaded opening to transfer the flowable substance into at least one of said plurality of container; f) wherein a user may transfer the at least one flowable substance from the at least one user-selected original container to at least one of said plurality of container.

11) The kit system, according to claim 10, wherein at least one of said plurality of containers comprises: a) at least one threaded-opening flexible tube; b) wherein said at least one transferor comprises at least one second adapter structured and arranged to connect with said at least one first adapter and to connect with said threaded-opening flexible tube; and c) wherein the flowable substance may be transferred directly from the at least one user-selected original container to said at least one flexible tube.

12) A portable system for holding at least one flowable substance available from at least one user-selected storage container comprising: a) at least one container structured and arranged to receive the at least one flowable substance; and b) at least one adapter structured and arranged to adapt the at least one user-selected storage container to assist efficient transfer of the at least one flowable substance from the at least one storage container into said at least one container; c) wherein said at least one container comprises at least one access-spout structured and arranged to access an internal portion of said container; d) wherein said at least one container comprises flexible-elements structured and arranged to flexibly assist said at least one container to be transported in a substantially-flat shape when said at least one container is empty; and e) wherein said at least one container comprises flat-bottom elements structured and arranged to assist said at least one container to be stably supported in an upright position on a flat bottom when said at least one container is at least partially filled with the at least one flowable substance.

13) A portable refilling system comprising a kit for use and transport of at least one flowable substance from at least one user-selected original container comprising at least one threaded opening to at least one kit-system container comprising, in combination: a) a plurality of containers structured and arranged to contain the at least one flowable substance; b) at least one transferor structured and arranged to transfer the at least one flowable substance from the at least one user-selected original container to at least one of said plurality of containers; c) wherein each of said plurality of containers comprises at least one ingress for ingress of the flowable substance from said container; d) wherein each of said plurality of containers comprises at least one egress for egress of the flowable substance from said container; e) wherein said transferor comprises at least one adapter structured and arranged to adapt the at least one threaded opening to transfer the flowable substance into at least one of said plurality of container; f) wherein a user may transfer the at least one flowable substance from the at least one user-selected original container to at least one of said plurality of container.

14) A portable refilling system comprising a kit for use and transport of at least one flowable substance from at least one user-selected original container to at least one kit-system container comprising, in combination: a) at least one flexible bag structured and arranged to receive the at least one flowable substance; and b) at least one funnel structured and arranged to funnel the at least one flowable substance from the at least one user-selected storage container into said at least one container; c) wherein said at least one flexible bag comprises at least one access-spout structured and arranged to access an internal portion of said at least one flexible bag; d) wherein said at least one flexible bag comprises flexible-elements structured and arranged to flexibly assist said at least one flexible bag to be transported in a substantially-flat shape when said at least one flexible bag is empty; and e) wherein said at least one flexible bag comprises flat-bottom elements structured and arranged to assist said at least one flexible bag to be stably supported in an upright position on flat bottom when said at least one flexible bag is at least partially filled with the at least one flowable substance; f) wherein said at least one flexible bag comprises a material compatible with food.

15) A method of use of a portable refilling system comprising a kit (for use and transport of at least one flowable substance from at least one user-selected original container, having at least one threaded opening, having at least one threaded original cap, into at least one flexible bag) comprising a plurality of flexible bags, each respective such flexible bag having an access-spout and an access-spout cap, and comprising a plurality of threaded adapter caps of various base diameters, each respective such threaded adapter cap having a similar nozzle structured and arranged to fit into the access-spout, comprising the steps of: a) selecting an appropriately-sized adapter cap, from the plurality of adapter caps, structured and arranged to thread onto the at least one threaded opening of such original container; b) threading the selected adapter cap onto such at least one threaded opening; c) selecting at least one flexible bag from the plurality of flexible bags; d) removing the access-spout cap from the access-spout of the selected flexible bag; e) placing the nozzle of the selected adapter cap into the access-spout; and f) transferring such flowable substance from such original container to such flexible bag.

16) A method of use of a portable refilling system comprising a kit (for use and transport of at least one flowable substance from at least one user-selected original container, having at least one accessible opening, to at least one flexible bag) comprising at least one catheter syringe, having a retractable plunger and a syringe tip, a length of tubing, having two ends, a plurality of flexible bags, each respective such flexible bag having an access-spout and an access-spout cap, comprising the steps of: a) selecting the at least one user-selected original container; b) selecting at least one flexible bag from the plurality of flexible bags; c) measuring a user-desired length of tubing to reach from the syringe tip into the flowable substance reservoir in the user-selected original container; d) cutting a user-desired length of tubing; e) attaching an end of the cut length of tubing to the syringe tip; f) drawing the at least one flowable substance through the cut length of tubing into the at least one catheter syringe by retracting the syringe plunger; g) removing the tubing from the at least one catheter syringe; h) placing the syringe tip into the at least one access-spout; and i) transferring the at least one flowable substance from the at least one syringe to the at least one flexible bag by pushing the plunger towards the catheter tip.

17) A container system for holding at least one flowable substance available from at least one user-selected storage container comprising: a) at least one container structured and arranged to receive the at least one flowable substance; and b) wherein said at least one container comprises at least one access-spout structured and arranged to access an internal portion of said container; c) wherein said at least one container comprises flexible-elements structured and arranged to flexibly assist said at least one container to be transported in a substantially-flat shape when said at least one container is empty; and d) wherein said at least one container comprises flat-bottom elements structured and arranged to assist said at least one container to be stably supported in an upright position on flat bottom when said at least one container is at least partially filled with the at least one flowable substance; e) wherein the at least one flexible bag comprises a capacity less than about 500 ml.

18) An adapter element, for assisting pouring of a flowable substance from a large container having at least one Yorker cap (with a funnel) to a small container having at least one threaded opening, comprising: a) at least one access structured and arranged to flowably connect with the funnel of such at least one Yorker cap; and b) at least one threaded port structured and arranged to connect with said at least one threaded opening; c) wherein the flowable substance may be transferred directly from the large container to the small container.

19) A method of use of a portable refilling system comprising a kit (for use and transport of at least one flowable substance from at least one user-selected original container, having at least one threaded opening and at least one threaded original cap, into at least one user-selected secondary container) comprising at least one flexible squeeze-tube, each respective such at least one flexible squeeze-tube having at least one access-opening and at least one access-opening cap, and further comprising at least one receiving adapter cap, structured and arranged to connect to the at least one access-opening of such flexible squeeze-tube and to adapt the access opening to receive at least one funnel end, and further comprising a plurality of threaded transfer adapter caps of various base diameters, each respective such threaded transfer adapter cap being structured and arranged to thread onto the at least one threaded opening of such original container and having at least one funnel end structure and arranged to fit into the at least one threaded receiving adapter cap, such method comprising the steps of: a) selecting at least one transfer adapter cap, from the plurality of threaded transfer adapter caps, to fit such original container; b) threading the selected at least one transfer adapter cap onto the at least one threaded opening of such original container; c) selecting the at least one flexible squeeze-tube; d) selecting the at least one receiving adapter cap; e) connecting the selected at least one receiving adapter cap onto such at least one access-opening of such flexible squeeze-tube; f) placing the funnel end of the selected at least one transfer adapter cap into the selected at least one receiving adapter cap; and g) transferring such flowable substance from such at least one user-selected original container to such selected at least one flexible squeeze-tube.

20) A method of making a flexible squeeze-tube comprising, in combination: a) providing at least one empty flexible squeeze-tube body portion normally comprising at least one first open end and at least one second open end; b) wherein said at least one first open end comprises a re-closable access system; and c) wherein said re-closable access system, when closed, seals such at least one first open end; and d) without filling such at least one empty flexible squeeze-tube body portion, sealing such at least one second open end.

21) A product comprising, in combination: a) at least one empty flexible squeeze-tube body portion having at least one first end and at least one second end; b) wherein said at least one empty flexible squeeze-tube body portion is new and unused for containment; c) wherein said at least one first end comprises a re-closable access system wherein said re-closable access system, when closed, seals such at least one first open end; and d) wherein said at least one second end comprises a permanent "linear" tube-type seal closure.

22) A portable refilling system comprising a kit, for use and transport of at least one flowable substance from at least one user-selected transferring flexible squeeze-tube comprising at least one first access-opening to at least one receiving flexible squeeze-tube comprising at least one second access-opening, in combination: a) a plurality of receiving flexible squeeze-tubes structured and arranged to contain the at least one flowable substance; b) at least one transferor structured and arranged to transfer the at least one flowable substance from the at least one user-selected transferring flexible squeeze-tube to at least one of said plurality of receiving flexible squeeze-tubes; c) wherein each of said plurality of receiving flexible squeeze-tubes comprises at least one aperture adapted for passage of the flowable substance; d) wherein said at least one transferor comprises at least one transferring adapter structured and arranged to adapt the at least one first access-opening to transfer the flowable substance into at least one of said plurality of receiving flexible squeeze-tubes; e) wherein said at least one transferor comprises at least one receiving adapter structured and arranged to adapt the at least one second access-opening to receive the flowable substance from said at least one transferring adapter into at least one of said plurality of receiving flexible squeeze-tubes; and f) wherein a user may transfer the at least one flowable substance from the at least one user-selected transferring flexible squeeze-tube to at least one of said plurality of receiving flexible squeeze-tubes.

23) A kit comprising a plurality of squeeze-tubes, each such squeeze-tube comprising, in combination: a) at least one empty flexible squeeze-tube body portion having at least one first end and at least one second end; b) wherein said at least one empty flexible squeeze-tube body portion is new and unused for containment; c) wherein said at least one first end comprises a re-closable access system wherein said re-closable access system, when closed, seals such at least one first open end; and d) wherein said at least one second end comprises a permanent "linear" tube-type seal closure.

24) An adapter element system kit, for assisting pouring of a flowable substance from at least one first container comprising at least one first threaded opening to at least one second container having at least one second threaded opening, comprising: a) at least one adapter cap comprising at least one Yorker tip; b) wherein said at least one adaptor cap is structured and arranged to connect to the at least one first threaded opening of the at least one first container; c) at least one receiving adapter comprising at least one access structured and arranged to flowably connect with said at least one Yorker tip of said at least one adapter cap; d) wherein said at least one receiving adaptor comprises at least one threaded port structured and arranged to connect with said at lead one second opening of said at least one second container; and e) the at least one second container; f) wherein said at least one receiving adapter is structured and arranged so that the flowable substance may be transferred through said at least one adapter cap connected to said at least one receiving adapter directly from the at least one first container to said at least one second container; and g) wherein said at least one second container comprises at least one flexible squeeze-tube.
Description



CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

[0001] The present application is a continuation-in-part of related application Ser. No. 10/718,361, filed Nov. 19, 2003, entitled "PORTABLE STORAGE KIT SYSTEM", which is related to and claims priority from prior provisional application Ser. No. 60/466,993, filed Apr. 30, 2003, entitled "PORTABLE STORAGE KIT SYSTEM", prior provisional application Ser. No. 60/455,924, filed Mar. 18, 2003, entitled "PORTABLE STORAGE KIT SYSTEM", and prior provisional application Ser. No. 60/428,044, filed Nov. 20, 2002, entitled "PORTABLE STORAGE KIT SYSTEM", and the present application is also related to and claims priority from prior provisional application Ser. No. 60/883,766, filed Jan. 5, 2007, entitled "TRAVEL STORAGE SYSTEM", and is also related to and claims priority from prior provisional application Ser. No. 60/893,067, filed Mar. 5, 2007, entitled "STORAGE SYSTEM", the contents all of which are incorporated herein by this reference and are not admitted to be prior art with respect to the present invention by mention is this cross-reference section.

BACKGROUND

[0002] This invention relates to providing a portable and re-usable storage system for use when traveling. More particularly, this invention relates to a system for storing flowable substances, utilizing re-usable, self-standing, counter-terrorism friendly, transparent flexible bag-like containers and small, re-usable, transparent flexible containers, particularly convenient for airport and international travel.

[0003] The typical air traveler is now required to follow strict security rules for storage containers for flowable substances like toothpaste, shampoo, hair care products, personal products, and even food products when carried onto an aircraft (and, which may include other regulated travel means). Such stored items are normally sold in bulk containers that are not approved by the Authorities having Jurisdiction for security and, therefore, do not provide a container for convenient transport and use. For airport and international travel, small, re-usable, self-standing, transparent containers and small, re-usable, counter-terrorism friendly, transparent flexible tubes, are not currently made for distribution to the public, nor are means for transferring such flowable substances from a bulk container to a regulation approved storage container. Such a system would assist consumers in carrying flowable substances onto aircraft and prevent millions of dollars in consumer products from being disposed of at security checkpoints by Authorities having Jurisdiction, such as, for example, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

[0004] This invention also relates to providing a re-usable, portable, storage travel system for storing lotions, shampoos, creams, liquid medicines and the like for transport, particularly when traveling, in flexible bags and flexible tubes. Further, this invention also provides a re-usable, portable, storage travel system for storing a flowable food-grade substance, such as, for example, liquor. Preferably, the consumable, flowable substances are stored in relatively small (being smaller than the original bulk container) flexible, sealable, plastic bags that will lay flat when not full (and self-stand when partially filled) or relatively small flexible, sealable plastic tubes. Such flexible bags and flexible tubes hold a small quantity volume for easy transport and use. Heretofore such small, re-usable, self-standing, flexible bag-like containers and small, re-usable, flexible tubes have not been available in a kit for consumer use. Furthermore, the re-usable portable storage travel system comprises a method and apparatus for filling and re-filling the flexible bags and flexible tubes from other containers.

[0005] Even further, an adapter for transferring such flowable substances into the top openings of flexible tubes has not been available.

[0006] It would be useful to utilize a larger storage container to fill smaller re-usable flexible bags and flexible tubes for travel or other transport by a user or group of users.

OBJECTS AND FEATURES OF THE INVENTION

[0007] A primary object and feature of the present invention is to provide a system for providing at least one set of components used to transport flowable substances compliant with transportation security regulations.

[0008] Another object and feature of the present invention is to provide a travel storage system compliant with transportation security regulations provided for by the United States Transportation Security Administration ("TSA") and/or a cooperating group of nations referred to as the International Harmonization of Security Measures.

[0009] Another object and feature of the present invention is to provide a method of designing and marketing a kit that is fully compliant with current security recommendations for travel, particularly air travel.

[0010] Another object and feature of the present invention is to provide a method of re-assessing security recommendations and then re-designing and marketing a re-designed kit that is fully compliant with current security measures for travel, particularly air travel.

[0011] Another object and feature of the present invention is to provide a kit system relating to assisting air travelers to comply with airport security recommendations relating to carry-on travel while carrying flowable substances.

[0012] Another primary object and feature of the present invention is to provide a system for re-usable, portable, storage of flowable substances in small volume flexible bag-like containers.

[0013] It is a further object and feature of the present invention to provide such a system for re-usable, portable, storage of flowable substances in small volume flexible tubes.

[0014] It is a further object and feature of the present invention to provide such a system and method for refilling re-usable, portable, storage small volume flexible tubes and flexible bags from larger or original containers of such flowable substances.

[0015] It is a further object and feature of the present invention to provide such a system for storing a flowable substance, such as, for example, cosmetics (including soaps, lotions, etc.).

[0016] It is a further object and feature of the present invention to provide such a system for storing a flowable food-grade substance, such as, for example, liquor.

[0017] It is a further object and feature of the present invention to provide such a system for re-usable, portable, storage of flowable substances in small volume flexible tubes.

[0018] It is a further object and feature of the present invention to provide such a system that provides transparent viewing of the flowable substance when passing through security checkpoints.

[0019] A further primary object and feature of the present invention is to provide such a system that is efficient, inexpensive, and handy. Other objects and features of this invention will become apparent with reference to the following descriptions.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0020] In accordance with a preferred embodiment hereof, this invention provides a method, relating to assisting air travelers to comply with airport security measures, comprising the steps of: assessing airport security recommendations relating to at least one specified territory; designing at least one kit product usable to assist air travelers to comply with such airport security recommendations relating to such at least one specified territory; and marketing such at least one kit product to potential air travelers; wherein such at least one kit product is structured and arranged to provide substantially all objects needed to assist air travelers with such compliance in such at least one specified territory. Moreover, it provides such a method, further comprising the step(s) of: performing at least one reassessing of current airport security recommendations relating to such at least one specified territory; performing at least one redesigning of such at least one kit product; and marketing such at least one redesigned kit product to potential air travelers; wherein such at least one redesigned kit product is structured and arranged to provide substantially all objects needed to assist air travelers with current compliance in such at least one specified territory. Additionally, it provides such a method, wherein such step of assessing airport security recommendations relating to at least one specified territory comprises assessing airport security recommendations, relating to at least one specified territory, relating to carry-on travel while carrying flowable substances. Also, it provides such a method, wherein such step of designing at least one kit product usable to assist air travelers to comply with such airport security recommendations relating to such at least one specified territory comprises designing at least one kit product, relating to carry-on travel while carrying flowable substances, usable to assist air travelers to comply with such airport security recommendations relating to such at least one specified territory. In addition, it provides such a method, wherein such step of marketing such at least one kit product to potential air travelers comprises marketing at least one kit product, relating to carry-on travel while carrying flowable substances, to potential air travelers. And, it provides such a method, wherein such at least one kit product relates to carry-on travel while carrying flowable substances and comprises: at least one substantial copy of at least one set of such airport security recommendations; at least one set of objects meeting such airport security recommendations; and at least one set of tools to assist in any desired transfer of at least one such flowable substance into at least one of such at least one set of objects. Further, it provides such a method, wherein such airport security recommendations comprise recommendations from any authority having jurisdiction over such airport security. Even further, it provides such a method, wherein such at least one specified territory comprises the Unites States of America.

[0021] In accordance with another preferred embodiment hereof, this invention provides a kit system, relating to assisting air travelers to comply with airport security recommendations relating to carry-on travel while carrying flowable substances, comprising: at least one substantial copy of at least one set of such airport security recommendations; at least one set of objects meeting such airport security recommendations; and at least one set of tools to assist in any desired transfer of at least one such flowable substance into at least one of such at least one set of objects. Even further, it provides such a kit system, wherein such at least one set of objects and such at least one set of tools together comprise a transport system relating to use and transport of at least one flowable substance from at least one user-selected original container comprising at least one threaded opening to at least one kit-system container comprising, in combination: a plurality of containers structured and arranged to contain the at least one flowable substance; at least one transferor structured and arranged to transfer the at least one flowable substance from the at least one user-selected original container to at least one of such plurality of containers; wherein each of such plurality of containers comprises at least one ingress for ingress of the flowable substance from such container; wherein each of such plurality of containers comprises at least one egress for egress of the flowable substance from such container; wherein such transferor comprises at least one adapter structured and arranged to adapt the at least one threaded opening to transfer the flowable substance into at least one of such plurality of container; wherein a user may transfer the at least one flowable substance from the at least one user-selected original container to at least one of such plurality of container. Even further, it provides such a kit system, wherein at least one of such plurality of containers comprises: at least one threaded-opening flexible tube; wherein such at least one transferor comprises at least one second adapter structured and arranged to connect with such at least one first adapter and to connect with such threaded-opening flexible tube; and wherein the flowable substance may be transferred directly from the at least one user-selected original container to such at least one flexible tube.

[0022] In accordance with a preferred embodiment hereof, this invention provides a travel storage system for holding at least one flowable substance available from at least one user-selected storage container comprising: at least one container structured and arranged to receive the at least one flowable substance; and at least one adapter structured and arranged to adapt the at least one user-selected storage container to assist efficient transfer of the at least one flowable substance from the at least one storage container into such at least one container; wherein such at least one container comprises at least one access-spout structured and arranged to access an internal portion of such at least one container; wherein such at least one container comprises flexible-elements structured and arranged to flexibly assist such at least one container to be transported in at least one substantially-flat shape when such at least one container is empty; and wherein such at least one container comprises flat-bottom elements structured and arranged to assist such at least one container to be stably supported in an upright position on a flat bottom when such at least one container is at least partially filled with the at least one flowable substance. Moreover, it provides such a system wherein such at least one container comprises at least two containers. Additionally, it provides such a system wherein the at least one container comprises at least one material compatible with food. Also, it provides such a system wherein the at least one container comprises at least one material compatible with at least one cosmetic. In addition, it provides such a system wherein the at least one container comprises at least one flexible bag. And, it provides such a system wherein the at least one flexible bag comprises at least at least one partially transparent material.
