|
Marty
Stoneman
Marty has been a registered patent attorney practicing in
Phoenix, Arizona, for over 40 years and is an active member
of the Intellectual Property Section of the Arizona Bar. In
Ohio, he graduated from Ohio State (math major) and Capital
University Law School. He graduated first in his law school
class, was trained in patent law at Battelle, and was
admitted to the Ohio Bar. He has used his broad patent
experience to develop quality-enhancing and cost-saving
systems for preparing patent applications. Marty has, in
legal, robotics, and behavioral areas, presented many
technical papers at international conferences and designed
and conducted many successful workshops. His writings
include several published books; and Marty is himself the
inventor of patent rights in artificial intelligence
(machines having humanoid cognitive systems). He now offers
cognitive training to lawyers and others in antidotes to
false persuasion. |

Michael Volk
Michael is a Registered Patent Attorney admitted to practice
before the United States Patent & Trademark Office and a
member of the Arizona State Bar. Michael is a member of both
the National Association of Patent Practitioners and the
Arizona Bar Intellectual Property Section. He graduated cum
laude from Arizona State University's College of Law and
received a certificate in Intellectual Property studies from
ASU's Center for the Study of Law, Science, and Technology.
In law school, Michael was an editor for ASU's law journal
Jurimetrics: The Journal of Law, Science, and Technology.
His undergraduate training was in Biology (B.Sc.),
graduating summa cum laude with honors from Texas Christian
University, and he has worked in several Molecular Biology
research laboratories using experimental models ranging from
C. elegans to human cell culture. Michael has published
papers and presented research in the field of Molecular
Biology and has applied his background to topics at the
intersection of Law and Science. Michael has also
co-authored an article examining the legal and ethical
issues raised by human genetic databases (published in
Jurimetrics); and he has presented a legal analysis of
issues surrounding Nanotechnology at the 2004 Annual Meeting
of the Society for Risk Analysis. Outside of his interest in
law and science, Michael is a guitar and guitar-effects
enthusiast. Michael is originally from El Paso, Texas. |

Mike Keeling
Mike is an advanced degreed engineer having over thirty
years of experience in the design, development, and
implementation of complex technical programs - and their
associated funding, regulatory and procurement needs. Most
recently Mike has entered law school with the objective of
becoming a practicing intellectual property attorney. Mike
has several areas of accomplishment including multi-vendor
broadband communication systems. Mike has an excellent
integration knowledge required to map from the user
applications and service levels to the underlying system
architectures. He also has considerable experience planning
and the development of enterprise architectures, which
provide a cost-effective basis for delivering
enterprise-wide technology based services. Mike has
personally directed the design, procurement and construction
of several large-scale computer and communications systems
and their related facilities. He has organized and presented
technical seminars on the subjects of communications FCC
rules, electrical power, and strategic planning. Several
organizations, including the ASTM and IEEE, have requested
his participation in study groups and panel discussions.

Jim Patterson
Jim, after earning a degree in Architectural Design from
Arizona State University, acquired 15 years experience
overseeing, and coordinating with consulting structural,
mechanical, and electrical engineers concerning, the design
and delivery of architectural commissions with values
between one and twenty million dollars. In this work, Jim
developed and administered network-based CAD systems and
coordinated technical specifications and multi-disciplined
engineering construction documents. Jim is now a full-time
patent consultant with Stoneman Volk Patent Group in
addition to his continuing contributions as an in-house
patent illustrator.

Rachel Gilboy
Rachel is a Registered Patent Agent with the firm. She is a recent
graduate of Arizona State University with a Bachelors of Science in
Bioengineering. Rachel is admitted to practice before the United
States Patent and Trademark Office. She has previously held
membership in College Republicans, Women in Science and Engineering,
and the Biomedical Engineering Society, and is currently involved
with Race for a Cure. In her free time Rachel enjoys running half
marathons, traveling, and promotional modeling.

Glenn Stoneman
Glenn studied biochemistry at the University of Arizona. Over the
last 20 years, he has been involved in several key areas in the
field of telecommunications, including data networking and wireless
broadband technology. Glenn has been a board member of the Arizona
Telecommunications & Information Council (ATIC) from 1998 to 2007.
As a member of the firm's management committee, Glenn is involved in
virtually all aspects of our day-to-day operations - particularly
marketing and client relations.

Vickie Bond
Vickie is a graduate of the Paralegal Certificate program from
Phoenix Career College (now Long Technical College, an American Bar
Association accredited institution). She also has an Associate
Degree from Phoenix College. Vickie has nearly 18 years of
experience in the high tech semi-conductor industry working for
Motorola, Inc. At Motorola, she worked closely with technicians and
engineers on research and development projects, as well as in
production and wafer fabrication in the disciplines of diffusion,
photo-lithography, and plasma - wet etches in a six-sigma
semiconductor manufacturing class-100 clean-room environment. At
Stoneman Volk Patent Group, Vickie is the pleasant voice on the
telephone and chief client correspondent coordinator.

Cary
Stoneman
Cary received a B.S. in Physiological Psychology from
Arizona State University and acquired licenses in both the
insurance and real estate industry. He has over twenty years
experience as a construction and contracts administrator.
His experience includes project management for large
architectural firms with project construction costs
exceeding 50 million dollars, including the preparation of
technical specifications and technical inspection of
construction projects. In addition to his excellent writing
and technical abilities, Cary loves to learn; He has been a
patent search specialist with the firm for over ten years
and is skilled with many different patent searching systems.
A lifelong Phoenix area resident, Cary enjoys being active
in community activities including present and former work
with: Beta Theta Pi Fraternity (AZ District Chief & Alumni
President), The Construction Specification Institute
(Professional Director, Board Member and Committee Chair)
and US Water Polo (Player, Coach and Referee). |

RJ Hall
RJ grew up working with computers and has a functional knowledge of
Basic, C++, VBA, PHP, SQL, and HTML. While raising a family, RJ
attended Western Nevada Community College in Carson City, NV,
earning AS degrees in Mathematics, Physics, and Pre-Engineering. RJ
then went on to graduate from the University of Nevada, Reno, with a
degree in Physics. During school, RJ worked with a two terawatt
z-pinch, know as Zebra, at the Nevada Terawatt Facility assisting
research, in the field of plasma physics, on plasmas in high-energy
magnetic fields. Gravitational physics, as RJ’s favorite topic in
physics, continues to be a field of interest and study for RJ as new
information emerges in this field of science.

Kara Billar
Kara graduated from Northern Arizona University with a B.S. in
Theatre with an emphasis in Technology and Design. While attending
NAU, Kara was involved in several theatrical productions having
assisted in costume, set and properties construction/design as well
as makeup/hair design. In her spare time she enjoys playing the
banjo and sewing. Kara's main role within the firm is bookkeeping
and other paralegal work. Kara ensures the firms compliance with
statutory bar dates and other mission critical time frames and
deadlines.

Dan Bishop
Dan graduated magna cum laude from Arizona State University with a
B.S. in Industrial Design. In the past, Dan has worked in the
automotive refinishing industry, researched emerging technologies,
and in new product development. With a background that includes fine
art, design, and mechanical understanding, Dan is able to fill his
role as a patent consultant and as an in-house patent illustrator by
producing illustrations for patents and adding his understanding to
our clients’ technologies.

Luke Augustine
Luke is a veteran of the United States Navy having served in the
Nuclear Program. Luke attended
Naval Nuclear Power Training Command in Charleston, Sc and was
stationed at a Department of Energy prototype reactor facility in
Ballston Spa, New York. During his enlistment Luke was trained in
several fields including: mathematics, nuclear physics, electrical
theory and equipment, reactor plant technology, thermodynamics,
chemistry, materials engineering and metallurgy, health physics and
reactor principles. Prior to his enlistment Luke was a state honors
graduate from Temecula Valley High School, and a finalist in the
University of California, Santa Barbara, College of Creative Studies
Math Competition. Luke is currently pursuing a
Bachelor of Science in Applied Science and Technology degree in
Nuclear Engineering Technology from Thomas Edison State College. Luke’s primary
responsibilities within the firm include network administration,
marketing, website development, and patent consultation.

Ed Wold Ed is a
mechanical engineer and took an advanced degree in project
engineering management from Montana Tech of the University of
Montana. Ed is presently working towards his goal of becoming a
patent attorney by taking law classes from Concord School of Law. Ed
has experience with building prototypes for research and development of various
mechanical/welding engineering projects. He has practical trades experience with
machining, welding, mechanics and operations management within the oilfield and
manufacturing industries. Ed is a member of the American Society of Welding Engineers
and enjoys working on community development projects. |

Beth Compton
Beth is a native Arizonian and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Justice Studies from Arizona State University. Previously Beth spent
16 years in police work as a 911 operator and police/fire dispatcher
and received several commendations. She enjoys spending her free
time being involved with her church. Beth is a valuable member of
the support team and performs many duties, including transcription,
filing, and mailing.

Derek Price
Derek holds a BSBA in Finance/Economics from Old Dominion University
and an MBA in Global Management from the University of Phoenix. He
also has earned various licenses in the securities/insurance
industry and is currently studying for the Level I CFA examination.
After receiving his BSBA, Derek worked as an accounting
specialist/information technician at Penndel Mental Health Center in
Levittown, PA, an organization which provides assistance to
special-needs individuals. More recently, Derek has worked to
develop and perfect session-based automated trading models in the
foreign exchange market. In his spare time, Derek enjoys travel,
keeping tropical fish aquariums, and various outdoor activities. As
office manager, Derek is responsible for coordinating and improving
daily support staff activities.

Rick Hill
After receiving an M.B.A., Rick's professional career has spanned
almost three decades of work in technology consulting, software
design, software development, and project management in a variety of
industries. Rick worked successfully for sixteen years at Arthur
Andersen (now Accenture) and ten years at National Health
Enhancement, Inc., where he was responsible for all software
development of products which formed the basis for the Company's
growth during Rick's tenure from revenues of about 3 million dollars
to revenues of about 50 million dollars. Rick consults primarily
with patent prosecution of very large Internet and other complex
software and business systems.
